Environ Skin Care

Dr Des Fernandes is a plastic surgeon from South Africa and is the founder of Environ.

He became interested in the science of skin cancer and the skin when two of his young patients died from melanoma. Through his research, he discovered the essential role that vitamin A plays in keeping the skin healthy, free from infections and skin cancers.

Vitamin A is the main ingredient. It is the only vitamin that can penetrate into the cell and help to repair damage to the DNA of the cell, resulting in more healthy skincells. It protects your skin from the damage caused by ultra violet radiation and free radicals. It also helps the production of healthy collagen and elastin, keeping skin toned and wrinkle free.

Vitamin C in the form of ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate has been included because it is the only form of vitamin C that is oil soluble and hence can easitly penetrate into the cell through the cellular membrane. A very powerful antioxidant, vitamin C assists in the production of collagen and has a very calming effect on the skin, helping to tone down red, irritated skin. Vitamin C also regenrates vitamin E.

Vitamin E is a very powerful antioxidant and is very healing on the skin. It works synergistically with vitamin C. Beta carotene is also a very powerful antioxidant and is used in the moisturiser.
